Sundog
There is something about this video...I feel so many emotions watching it...happy, sad, joy, wonder, yearning...the music fits so beautifully. I will have to investigate Lord Huron who performed and wrote it. Let me know if this touches you. My biggest, little baby did not want to watch it, but all of a sudden he sat up straighter and said, this makes me feel happy!

Northern Lights
I have seen the Northern Lights...but nothing like these. I found this by accident on youtube. Thank you for publishing this and sharing with the world.
The words I think of when I see this are:
How great Thou art...
To God be the glory great things He has done...
Job 38:31-33
Can you bind the beautiful Pleiades? Can you loose the cords of Orion? Can you bring forth the constellations in their seasons or lead out the Bear with its cubs? Do you know the laws of the heavens? Can you set up God's dominion over the earth?
AWESOME

Out of the comfort zone
So, this year I have been talking to myself. I want to try and be more spontaneous and get out of my cocoon which I have woven tightly around myself. Hopefully myself will listen and I will even remember what it was I said. Anyway, today after visiting with the antique Rose I got gas...no not that kind...for the car! However the needle was on the orange part! What you say? Yep, I waited that long to get it. It was closing in on E...E for empty! Generally as the needle heads to the halfway mark I am at the station pumping...
I must say it is a pleasure filling up the car these days. $24.00 filled the car up, $1.97/gal. Remember the good old days...when I got my first car, gas was 25 cents! Yikes.
I did own a Dodge Stealth for a while. Best car I ever owned, fast, warmed up quickly, handled like a dream in the snow and ice. Handsome hunted it down and bought it for me. It was my mid-life crisis car. One of these days I will post a picture.
One step out of the comfort zone...even if it is a small one.

It must be January!!!!
When I was younger, oh wait that was just last year...I used to hate January...it was always so cold. The days got longer, but that didn't seem to help.
I have noticed over the years that the sunrises, sunsets, moonrises and moonsets are spectacular. I don't know what it is, but I have never seen colors like these in the warmer parts of the world.

The Wolf Moon Rises And then the Dawn
The moon was a ghostly galleon...
Moonset (is that a word? See it there peaking about halfway down the tall tree?
The snowflakes were huge. Do you want to build a snowman?
The snow hung onto the trees and made a winter wonderland for several days.

Sunrise! Top that Florida, Hawaii... I think we win here in the Midwest.
The Chinook winds have been blowing...we need a freeze or the Mud season will start early around here. I must admit I have enjoyed winter so far. It was horribly cold to begin with. I just
hope we don't have to shovel too much and if we do, it is the kind that angels send down. You know when they have their pillow fights. Handsome is having shoulder trouble and I have some troubles of my own, so shoveling is a bit of a scary prospect right now.

It's Official
I now have had the loooongest birthday celebration in the family. It has been almost a year since my last birthday. I had a rocky year health wise. I had asked Handsome for tickets to see Sarah Brightman. She was to perform in March of this year. Well, she postponed 'til September. And now I must tell you about my weekend.
Handsome's McQueen car is fixed and we got to go cruising.
After a very rough week, Handsome enjoyed the relaxation of a purring motor under his capable hands, no traffic. And most importantly NO ROAD CONSTRUCTION. There is something about the autumn air blowing through your hair. The shimmering light on your skin, the golden fields zipping by. The smell of apples is in the air. It gives me a nostalgic, longing feeling, that almost makes me cry. It is all so BEAUTIFUL.
Handsome insisted on taking us out for dinner. We went to our favorite restaurant. It is on the way to the concert. The skies turned dark and rain looked imminent. We were seated immediately. Handsome's prime rib was done perfectly and was so large it was hanging over the plate. My chicken kabob was moist and juicy, the vegetables done well with a bit of char, but not soggy. I love the lemon sauce that comes with. Handsome had the forethought to bring a cooler, so leftovers are on the menu the next couple of days.
Then the concert. Sarah is lovely with the voice of an angel. We had excellent seats and could see and hear wonderfully. My only complaint was: the backgrounds of space and lightning and drawings were so busy, she would get lost among them. Her costumes were beautiful and she did many changes in a small amount of time. The lights from the stage also would shine in the audiences eyes. I whispered to Handsome...Seizure? And we would laugh.
Here is an potpourri of her show. The second half was most enjoyable. She sang Phantom of the Opera and Time to Say Goodbye.
So it's official. Happy birthday to the Fairy Grandmother...who has the longest running birthday ever!
Thanks Handsome for a most wonderful, beautiful birthday. Thank you Jesus for the incredible day.
