Fashionista!

Well, too cute or what? Tell me...how do I look?
I have never been in style...maybe I am today!?
I can't believe I can actually see with glasses...usually I get them and everything is still blurry. I can see far...I can see close. The top ones are for distance and up close.  The green monsters are for me and MY COMPUTER! And they really work...can you tell I am excited! Glasses...they can work...who knew?

These little boys of ours

Eyes that shine so bright, lips that kiss goodnight,
Arms that hold you tight...
No one could ever know, how much your coming has meant. You're everything, you're something heaven sent.
You're all the world to me, you climb upon my knee...
To me you'll always be those little boys of mine.

My Mom

This is my Mom. She is a strong lady.
We were decorating cookies at the Fall Fairy's house. GG Rose came up with this design...in case you don't recognize it...its a chicken.  She is famous for her chicken renderings.
She was in charge of our biggest, little baby that day and got to feed him 3 times. Although, somehow he spit up on me!
She entertained the middle Rose and they had a great time. Our blonde boy was not feeling so good. He took a long nap and we didn't see him very much.

We were all pooped when it was time to go home and Mom said what a good time she had.
Early the next morning (Valentine's Day) I got a call from my sister.  Mom was at the ER. She had a terrible nosebleed that woke her up in the night. She could not stop it, the paramedics couldn't stop it, the ER doctor couldn't stop it. A specialist Eye, Nose and Throat doctor happened to come in. He took care of it by cauderizing it with silver nitrate. I arrived at the ER right after they had done the procedure. The specialist, who looked about 12, told me this was very serious and he was glad she had come in.
GG Rose looked good but was glad I was there. I know she was a bit frightened. She was discharged shortly after. She had no shoes or coat and her cardigan was stained with blood. I went to get the car and then gave her my coat. Unfortunately I had no shoes to share with her, but I got her home quickly and settled in. I got her medicine at the store and then some breakfast. I could see she needed to sleep and probably wouldn't with me there. I covered her up, got her the remote and cordless phone. I kissed her and promised to check on her. It is hard seeing such a strong lady vulnerable. It hurt my heart. I called her several times. She told me she was ok but afraid to go to sleep, afraid she would wake up with the same problem. I reassured her and reminded her to take care of her nose, the nose God gave her, we only have one nose you know. She managed fine and woke up with a clean pillow. Thank you God for taking care of my Mom...I am still a little girl inside sometimes...I love her very much.

Our Valentine's Day was a little different than planned. I will post more on that later.

I love my Barbies!

When I was little, my Uncle made furniture for the Barbies.  My Mom painstakingly made the mattresses and the bedspreads. This is what remains...I am so glad that I saved it, cause guess who loves to play with it (besides me that is)?
I fully expect that the littlest Rose will enjoy them too.

Keeper of the Wizard!

I am so excited...When I was a child, my favorite movie of all times was "The Wizard of Oz". It came on one time a year...we had black and white t.v. When it did come on, my Mom would let my sister and I eat dinner on a blanket in front of the t.v. (Mostly an unheard of thing, except when we had popcorn in a green milk glass bowl...I still have it!) Dinner was hamburger and french fries with ketchup.

I always loved this movie...even the scariest witch ever, and her flying monkies...I loved when they foo fooed up Dar e thy (I know its Dorothy, but they say it That way) and I loved her ruby slippers....I don't know how old I was before I discovered that (spoiler alert) the tin man, the scarecrow, the lion and the wizard were all people in her "real life".

I couldn't wait for the girls to see it when they were little. We got the disk (go backwards in your minds for this one) and they played it until I wanted to...scream! I didn't want to see it again, ever.

Fast forward to this year...there was nothing on the tube. Even with 1000's of channels, many times nothing is on. But "The Wizard of Oz" was...I put it on...I LOVED it again.

In the mail the other day a box arrived from Amazon...Handsome had ordered me the movie...and so I am going to be THE KEEPER of "THE WIZARD OF OZ"...and when the Mamas say their little ones are ready, Baba HooHoo will have the time of her life sharing a great memory from her past...only thing...it will be at my house and watched only with me...and we shall have cheese burbers and srench sries and ketchup on a blanket in front of the color, flat screen tv. And lions and tigers and bears oh my...There's no place like home!

Clean, recycled garbage

Well, we have the memo from the county...we have to recycle...all these years we have been irresponsible and leaving a nice large carbon footprint...

I couldn't stand the recyclables sitting on the counter...we have no counter space and no garage...so Handsome went out and bought another trash container...it tucks nicely into a little nuk...We have called our children numerous times...can this go in there, do we have to take the labels off the jars...what about dirty kleenex (I know, any excuse to call my girls!)

Now we have the cleanest garbage, everything all rinsed and washed and delabeled and ready to go into our clean trash can...its kind of funny...I think we will be receiving a reward from the waste haulers...Cleanest and Best trash in the county!

A Very Nice Young Man

We met our first son-in-law to be when he gave our oldest a ride home from college. She started talking more about him after that and when we visited her, we encountered him waiting for her after class with a rose in his hand. Hmmmm...

He came to pick her up one time
after a Christmas Vacation. We warned him to wait a day or two, but #1 son-in-law is very determined and he drove thru a terrible blizzard to come and get her. (Evidence to the right).
They found out school wasn't starting til a day later, but...they were safe.

He also drove a looong time to come and ask her father for her hand in marriage. And when Handsome asked her what she wanted him to say she said, "Say yes Daddy".

Ryan is a man who can do just about anything he sets his mind to. He won the hand of our daughter...he can build anything...he can even run around the yard with 90+ lbs of children and barking Finchy...all this with asthma!

He can cook and has asked me many, many times what he can cook for me...

Yes, people, this is baked fudge and I make many different sounds when I eat this. He makes something, something in a red wine reduction and it is smooth and velvety. His blueberry muffins are to die for and the smoked fish he has done is heavenly. I really think someday he will come up with a dessert for people who can't eat sugar that is just wonderful...

He is a great father...And his great patience and determination is something our littlest Rose needs and he can get her to eat the best...Don't ever say God doesn't know that He is doing!
Sometimes he is hard to read and quiet, but sometimes, I think Wenna Woo married her Mom...Figure that one out...When he's not being quiet he is making the sounds of wild canadian geese mating or an allergy hairball. He is funny and smart and we love him.

Oh...and do ask him about THIS beautiful dish :)

Haiti

Did you see the news last night? They showed a little beautiful boy about 4-5...standing in shock completely naked...then they showed a beautiful boy crying his eyes out...and he reminded me of my wild blonde boy and my ray and my middle rose and my snow white and my most content baby...and I prayed...Lord what are we supposed to do...I want to go get them and bring them here...where can we give the money that would make a difference...this morning on Moody, the head of Compassion International was on...I found him so intriguing...his voice was breaking as he spoke of his love of Haiti...Moody was collecting donations today for Haiti, partnering with Compassion...I knew then that was where I was to give...when Handsome walked in the door...I told him the amount...I told him what if it was our babies...and he gave me his credit card...and I felt a small weight drop off my shoulders...
