A Wild Thanksgiving and I'm still celebrating my birthday!

I Love Shawn the Sheep, he is so naughty! My Ray and my Snow White got it for me off of Amazon.com. They are both such savvy shoppers. They did have to get a few more things, though to get super save shipping!
GGR got to hold my Ray (of sunshine). He is hesitant to go by her. He doesn't see her very often. GGR was very Happy!

Here are my three roses! Aren't they lovely?

Wenna Woo's hubby made two kinds of turkey. One regular, one he smoked although how he held it in his mouth and lit it is beyond me?!#

I said I could not see her eyes under her hat and she smiled mysteriously and said she liked it that way. Another quote from storypeople.com

Grandpa Handsome had a great time holding his Snow White. (Do you think she called him and they coordinated outfits?) He isn't feeling well but managed to enjoy the kids. Even his oldest. On the weekend they went to see South Pacific...a play she enjoyed so much when we took her to see it when she was in junior high. I got to stay home and watch my two sweet grandkids and the Hounds of the Baskervilles. (Guess whose dog was the naughtiest?)

We got to see our girl eat! She loves squash and carrots. Thank God! She has an eating aversion due to the bad reflux that she has.

Ray of Sunshine got a candy kane and I believe he liked it!

The new favortie Moo Bee is Polar Express!
I liked it bunches, but the best part was watching my boy yell "All aboard" and "Oh No" and "I need my "ductor" hat!
And of course the song that stuck in my head... "Hot Hot Hot Hot Chocolate"

A Very Special Visitor

Yes, my dear oldest granddaughter came to Baba Hoohoo's house today.

We had an important project to make...Simmering potporri for some very important people in her life.We had many spices, whole cloves, whole alllspice, whole nutmeg, cinnamon sticks, apple slices and orange ribbons. She measured them out, counted them too and finished all 10 bags. She then helped me tie ribbons on them.
Then we got out my Christmas ornaments.
The wonder on her face as she found many of her favorites and Grandma, did you get me one of these?

She was very careful and not one bird was harmed in the trimming of this tree.
We did take time for lunch and snacks, play dough and Barbies.

We ended our time together watching Snow White.

As we were getting ready to go home, I asked her what was her favorite thing we did. She said "When I laid on your lap and watched Snow White." Oh sigh, oh bliss!

She asked me if I had fun playing with her. Of course my little lovey, of course.

As you wish...as you wish...

A Girlfriend Date

I am so excited. I have a date in two weeks with a special girlfriend. I am so excited, oh did I say that already. She is a special and strong lady. Breakfast, a bit of shopping, talking, talking, talking. How to act, I feel like I don't know how to act it has been so long since I went out on a girlfriend date. I am babbling, but I am happy...Oh dear, what if something comes up...hew haw, I guess I'll have to deal with it like a big girl. Girlfriends, don't misplace yours, they get harder to find! Thank you Jesus for friends.

Pink !#?

My living room looks like this: yes it is a happy and vibrant place. I love the color. I know its not for everyone but, we are not everyone now are we?
The traditional Christmas colors are a bit of a problem here. So that is why I ended up finding these lights.
This is our tree at night. I love it and it makes me smile. The tree is a hand me down from a dear friend. It was her in-laws. I have never loved a tree more. It reminds me of a tree in the forest (sans pink lights or maybe at sunrise or sunset). The branches turn down as if it has snowed. The tree is getting old. It will make me very sad to retire it someday.
It was another beautiful, sunny day. The sun makes me happy and energetic. I had forgotten how that felt. Have a great week.

Cranberry Orange Muffins

I say they're labor intensive.
But well worth the chopping...

I made these for you Wenna Woo. Because I miss you and I love my oldest daughter too.

Injun Summer

It was a beautiful day...we had a special visitor...Sargie poo poo did not recognize the car when she pulled up and he barked and barked his guard dog bark. We got to chat...I got to share my limited digital scrapbooking knowledge with her...we got to enjoy lunch at our favorite hamburger place.
It was an odd feeling as she drove off by herself, alone, in her car...a big girl now. Yes it was the Fall Fairy who visited us. What a very special day it was.
Later, dusk settled in. The air was still and a chill was setting in. I went out on the deck. I heard children playing (something you don't hear very often anymore), the air was hazy with smoke and there was a quarter moon high in the sky. The call of geese was overhead and as I watched them fly, I thought I saw the image of an Indian in the clouds.
Check out the link below...I love the cartoon

This is my little Snow White.
Skin as white as snow,
Hair as black as ebony
and lips as red as roses.

"I'm Having a Tea Party"

my oldest granddaughter exclaimed. (By this time Handsome and I were pooped and neither one of us grabbed the camera or Flip, much to our great chagrin.) "And everybody is invited...even the glo bugs."

In full regalia she proceeded to set up the party. She even had her plastic, high heeled shoes on. As she set the "table" (a box I keep my Barbie things in, and yes, I still have my Barbies), she would step back, cross her arms and survey the situation.

Clip clopping from the living room to the Princess Room she brought out everything she would need. After she placed all the dolls and glo bugs, she invited me to join in.

When we were done, she said..."What can be the dish washer?" I said "How about this empty box". To which she replied, " Don't put these dishes in there, they're clean, we didn't use them." I so agree little girl... just because it was on the table doesn't mean it has to be washed!

Bambi's Father

Today I saw Bambi's father. It was 3:15 in the afternoon. He was by a stand of trees. He had a large rack of antlers, a black, velvety nose and wide, brown eyes. He moved slowly and majestically towards me. I stopped my car. I wished for my camera. As I watched, he walked confidently across the street and into the other group of trees that was nearby. What a sight! I hope no car or hunter finds him.
BEAUTIFUL ...

Last Rose of Summer

I took this today!
Our 3 Roses: Snow White, My Heart, GGR
The last rose of summer is as delicate as our Snow White. Delicate, but still blooming through life's trials.

This is Sargie Poo Poo

Sargie poo poo is a rescued dog. I didn't want another dog. But Handsome did. I knew I would love him, but I still didn't want him. You see I was still getting over Fred T. Beagle who captivated my heart and left us much too soon.
But I digress, this is about Sargie. Well I have been calling him Sargie poo poo for quite a while. Then it dawned on me, do you suppose that's why he likes to roll in and eat various and sundry items in the yard? I guess you live up to your name!

My Fall Fairy

This is our youngest. She is our girly girl. She is our ballet dancer (even though she sometimes falls UP the stairs. Her daughter seems to be taking after that family trait.)
We call her Dolly, because she loved her dolls. I also call her mama. She was born to have babies. She is great with the newborns. The love just shines in her eyes. She has had her share of trials including losing her first baby girl 5 1/2 months in utero.
She is very smart and I could rarely win an argument with her, usually I had to draw the "I'm your mother that's why" card. She has a lovely family and we get to see them at least once a week.

Anniversary card

They sat side by side in the
morning light and looked
out at the
future together.
My sister and her husband will be married 31 years this month. They are married as long as the Fall Fairy is old. I remember she cried through the entire reception. Not my sister... the Fall Fairy. She was awful cute though, as was the Mama Llama in her pink and white checked dressie which I saved and have given to the "Flauware" whom I also call Snow White or Ladybug.

My Halloween Haul

Poo Bear & "Flauware"

Nothing on Earth so beautiful as the final haul on Halloween night-Steve Almond

Your mama is a llama!

This is our oldest. The mama llama on the right ha ha (left) of course.

Handsome calls her Punky, (remember Punky Brewster?) I call her wenna woo...or mama...I think mama is the best name in the world, after Grandma and Grandpa of course.

She has battled migraines for over 1/2 of her life and has managed to keep her life fairly normal even with a bad head injury. I don't know how she does that. When I have a headache, I whine and take stuff for it. She is a fighter and is a very strong and lovely woman with a fiery spirit. She is very loyal and will be your friend through many things. We love her and her family very much and wish we could see them more often.

Love you wenna woo.

My Marlboro Man!

This is MY Marlboro Man.

But I call him Handsome!

If you ask him what he wants to be when he grows up...

He will say center fielder for the NY Yankees.

What makes him realllly happy? His family.

I asked him if he could live with out a tv and he said

Yes, but not today though.

If he could live anywhere in the whole world he would live between our two children.

One of the most touching things he has ever said to me was following his heart surgery...

"I am so glad you were here all night with me".

He brings me flowers when I am not expecting it.

He brings me perfume before I run out.

He loves me through some humiliating moments.

I found this quote on the story people website http://www.storypeople.com/storypeople/Home.do and I think it sums it up...

"He loved her for almost everything she was & she decided that was enough to let him stay for a very long time"

We will be married 37 years and I love him very much.
